One Layer Model

The simulation that is used for the Republican River Basin is a single layer model.  The simulation used for the Platte River is seven layer model.  The Republican River Model assumes all of the aquifer is one unit.  In fact, the aquifer and the Republican River are disconnected from each other over large sections of the Basin.  Because the simulation does not recognize this separation it says that pumping in the disconnected areas still has a large influence on the stream flow.  That does not match reality.
